The heat is on in WA and the east is next

Douglas Fenton
It reached a stifling 39 degrees in Perth today, that's 13 degrees above the average and the warmest November day in three years. There have now been four consecutive very warm days in western districts of WA, with temperatures climbing over ten degrees above average in parts. Gosnells City reached 41 degrees on Friday, the highest there in seven years for November. These warm temperatures were surely only appreciated by the fortunate few who had the day off to head down to the beach. Temperatures should stay generally well above average in the west on the weekend, with isolated showers and storms developing on the coast on Saturday afternoon. These showers and storms will provide some much needed rain over the next several days as they head slowly east across southern WA, ahead of a cool change. The hot air will head to Adelaide and Melbourne next week. Adelaide is forecast to reach a top of 35 degrees on Tuesday with Melbourne set to reach a top of 34 degrees, in northerly winds.
