Warmest November night in years for Sydney

Anthony Duke
Much of Sydney saw another warm night, in some places making it the warmest November night in years. After the warmest weekend since January for Sydney, it's hardly surprising minimum temperatures have also been up above average too. Across the region minimum temperatures stayed between six and nine degrees above the November average. Richmond was among the warmest places not dropping below 23 degrees. This was the warmest night since January and the warmest November night in eight years. Richmond has now seen two consecutive nights above 21 degrees, this hasn't happened in November for at least 16 years. Elsewhere, Bankstown saw its warmest night in November for six years just falling to 22 degrees, eight above average. The warm weekend was the result of warm northwesterly winds dragging in heat from the interior ahead of a trough. Unfortunately its all about to change as this trough sweeps through eastern NSW today, bringing cloud and rain which will keep temperatures down.
