Racing fans have converged in Bathurst, NSW this weekend for the 2026 Bathurst 1000 Supercars races. Drivers and enthusiasts awoke to rain and overcast conditions this morning, with Bathurst Airport recording 7.0mm of rainfall between about 5:30am and 7:30am. While the weather may have caused concern about pavement conditions at Mount Panorama this weekend, weather conditions are set to improve.

While early rainfall is in the rearview mirror, skies will continue to clear in Bathurst this morning with a mostly sunny and dry afternoon to follow for the practice and short-duration races today.

Fans who are camping in Bathurst overnight should prepare for clear, dry and cold conditions on a damp ground with temperatures expected to drop to the single figures.

The main event will commence at 11:30am AEDT tomorrow with ideal conditions expected: mostly sunny and dry with burning rubber for the 161-lap finale.
